What Is Telos?
텔로스란 무엇인가?
Ephesians 1:9–10
Synopsis
"Telos" is a Greek word for the end something is aimed at — not merely where it stops, but the purpose it was made for. A seed's telos is the tree. An arrow's telos is the target. Scripture says history itself has a telos: God's plan "to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ" (Ephesians 1:10).
That's the horizon this ministry is named for. We are not gathering students to fill a room or run a program. We are pointing a whole generation toward the end they were made for — to know Christ and to be gathered up, with everything else, into him.
This first gathering is a beginning that already has its end in view. What we start today, we start on purpose.

- When you hear the word 'purpose,' whose version of your purpose comes to mind first — yours, your parents', God's? Why that one?
- Ephesians 1:10 says everything is being gathered 'under Christ.' What in your life feels like it hasn't been gathered in yet?
- If your life already has a telos you didn't choose, does that feel more like freedom or pressure? Sit with the honest answer.
- What would it look like this week to aim at that end on purpose, in one small, specific way?

"텔로스"는 어떤 것이 향하는 목적을 뜻하는 헬라어입니다. 단지 멈추는 지점이 아니라, 그것이 만들어진 이유를 가리킵니다. 씨앗의 텔로스는 나무입니다. 화살의 텔로스는 과녁입니다. 성경은 역사 자체에 텔로스가 있다고 말합니다. 곧 "하늘과 땅의 모든 것을 그리스도 안에서 통일되게 하려" 하시는 하나님의 계획입니다 (에베소서 1:10).
이것이 이 사역이 지향하는 지평입니다. 우리는 방을 채우거나 프로그램을 돌리기 위해 학생들을 모으는 것이 아닙니다. 우리는 한 세대 전체를 그들이 지음받은 목적, 곧 그리스도를 알고 만물과 함께 그분 안으로 모아지는 그 목적을 향해 이끌고 있습니다.
이 첫 모임은 이미 그 끝을 바라보는 시작입니다. 오늘 우리가 시작하는 것은, 목적을 가지고 시작하는 것입니다.
